Google is reportedly working on an easier way to unsubscribe marketing emails in Gmail
If you don’t remember, currently, the unsubscribe optionis placed at the bottom of every marketing email that lets users unsubscribe it.And, the process of reaching that button by first opening the email then scrolling down is tiresome.
As a part of the new development, Gmail might place a prominent button within the email to help users easily unsubscribe the marketing emails and prevent receiving them in future. That said, the web version of Gmail already shows the unsubscribe button at the top, letting users quickly hit that button and stop receiving such emails. But, the same is not the case with the Android version of the Gmail app.
The SpAndroid has reported that the newer version of the Gmail app will have a new Unsubscribe button on mobile which will be more prominent than the currently placed button at the bottom. However, it is still in the development stage and may arrive with future updates of the app.
According to the image posted, a new Unsubscribe button will appear on the right side of the sender’s address. Once rolled out, it will make it a lot easier for users to unsubscribe from marketing emails sent by that particular sender.
Rollout details
As of now, Google hasn’t revealed any official details about the feature and when it will be rolled out to all Gmail users on mobile devices. We expect this to arrive in future updates sometime next year.
